This tour combines spectacular scenery, dramatic walled
hilltowns with white sand beaches and the turquoise waters of
the island of Elba. From the international airport in Pisa it
leads you south to the ancient Etruscan stronghold of
Volterra. From there you strike off into the unusual
countryside of the Lardenello region to Massa Marittima. A
day trip takes you to one of the most picturesque hilltowns in
Tuscany, Roccatederighi. Then you catch a ferry over to the
island of Elba where you can combine great riding with great
beaches. The return trip to Pisa weaves through olive groves
and forgotten towns along the coastal range of hills above the
sea. This is a great ride.
